We're the Browers

Hi! We’re Jeff and Patty.

We’re all about making.

About Us

The Couple That Plays Together…

Hi! We’re Patty and Jeff Brower and together with our basset hound, Peppermint, we’re The Snugbug Collective.

We’re both lifelong makers and tinkerers and our businesses have one thing in common… we help people build beautiful lives.

Our home is in Staunton, Virginia, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Jeff’s lived in Staunton since the early 80’s and has been a part of Virginia’s vibrant forestry and conservation community for nearly 30 years. In his off time, Jeff became a canny haggler for flea market treasures. Patty grew up in Minnesota and lived in Minneapolis for 15 years before moving to Dallas, then Nashville and finally settling in Staunton . Earlier in her career, Patty worked in the marketing field, eventually becoming the marketing manager of a textiles manufacturing firm based in the United Kingdom.

Together, Patty and Jeff make a great team. Patty’s love of gadgets, technology, spreadsheets and making is a perfect compliment to Jeff’s natural, easygoing style and his love of making things and chatting with everyone he meets.

The work we do

We help people create beautiful lives…

The Snugbug Collective is comprised of three main businesses, and in each business we are focused on working with our clients and customers to help them create beautiful lives they love!

Through The Snugbug Mercantile, we bring beautiful vintage furniture, prints and decorative items to our customers. In addition to the cool stuff we find out picking, Jeff loves to rescue furniture that has seen better days and restore or upcycle it so it’s ready to be a functional, beautiful centerpiece of any home. We love working in the woodshop and with the super flexible and fun chalk/clay paints to create amazing works of art. Jeff is also able to take on a limited number of custom projects for our clients.

Three Snugbugs Studios (coming fall 2015) is a small-scale line of handmade and upcycled clothing and accessories. As a long-time sewist, Patty loves textiles and creating fun, whimsical garments and accessories. The Three Snugbugs clothing line is sold under the Rose and Gingham label and is geared towards the 18+ clothing market.

Patty also helps small business owners grow their own businesses via Patty Brower Communications. Business owners can look to Patty to help with marketing planning and implementation with a particular focus on social media, online selling strategies, copywriting, web development and newsletter creation.
